Brigadier General (Rtd.) Dr. Joseph Mensah Ayettey is a retired senior military officer and a surgical specialist with a career spanning over four decades.
At the early stage of his medical practice, Brigadier General Ayettey worked at the Korlebu- Teaching Hospital and Effia-Nkwanta Government Hospital respectively as a Medical officer.
Brigadier General held and played a number of roles within the Ghana Armed Forces including; Director General -Medical Services, Director- Directorate of Medical Services, Commanding Officer, Military Hospital, 2IC Military Hospital, Senior Medical Officer, Military Hospital, Accra.
Brigadier General Ayettey also served in a number of ECOWAS (GHANCON) and UN (UNIFIL) missions abroad between 1980 and 1993.
He has attended a number of training and courses on health management, leadership among others in Ghana and abroad. He is currently a director at Adenta Clinic in Accra.
He brings to the Board of Equity Health Insurance a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field of medicine and leadership.
